Originally, the building at 100 Tower Gardens Road was the estate office. The building has then been used as a Sure Start centre, a nursery, and as offices for the charity HomeStart. Parts of the building are now empty. Both the council and the residents group are interested in potential community uses for the building.

In December 2024, a group of residents were able to view the inside of the building. There are notes and photos from that tour. Following the tour, a constituted group – called Tower Gardens Community Corner – was formed to push for community use of the building.

Tower Gardens Community Corner

Local residents have been wanting a community space for over 100 years – when it was first promised in the original plans! For some years there was a club in Waltheof Gardens, but this was demolished a long time ago. The Residents Groups also used to use the building in Tower Gardens Park for meetings in the past. Now, we have the opportunity to turn 100 Tower Gardens Road into a “community corner” for the estate, and more widely for the ward with which it shared a name when it was originally known as White Hart Lane Estate.

Following initial engagement, including the online survey and an event outside the building, we have put together a community “dream” for the building (below) to help ground the conversation. Reach out if you want to get involved!
